The trial against controversial Rivers of Living Waters Ministries' Bishop Stephen Zondo will only begin on 14 September.
The North Gauteng High court postponed the case on Monday to allow Zondo’s new legal team time to study the docket and consult with their client.
The prominent church leader is facing multiple counts of sexual assault, rape and defeating the ends of justice.
Last week Zondo's legal team requested the postponement. But the state advocate opposed the postponement, arguing that the defence team had enough time to prepare for trial when the court granted a week-long postponement.
On Monday, however, the matter was postponed again to 14 September.
It is alleged that Bishop Zondo repeatedly raped a family member when she was a minor in 1980.
The other alleged victims that the 55-year-old is accused of raping were members of his congregation.
